Optimization of the Luminosity Spectrum in the Nlc
نویسنده
چکیده
The energy spectrum of electrons at the interaction point of a linear collider is determined largely by the beamstrahlung spectrum. The beamstrahlung spectrum in turn is sensitive to the design parameters at the interaction point. In this paper we examine the optimization of the luminosity spectrum for discovery and detailed exploration of various physics processes of interest in the NLC, in particular, top and stop pair production, and a class of processes occuring via W-W scattering.

Optimization of NLC machine parameters for speci c physics processes
We examine the optimization of NLC parameters at 500, 1000, and 1500 GeV c.m. energy for speci c classes of physics processes, in particular, top and stop pair production, and W-W scattering processes. Our focus is on optimizing the luminosity spectrum, while maintaining or improving machine operability. Presented at Worldwide Study on Physics and Experiments with Future Linear e+eColliders, Ap...
متن کاملLinear Collider Collaboration Tech Notes
In this note we give Guineapig simulation results for the luminosity and luminosity spectrum of three baseline NLC designs at 0.5~TeV and 1.0~TeV and compare the simulation results with analytic approximations. We examine the effects of varying several design parameters away from the NLC-B-500 and NLC-B-1000 designs, in order to study possible trade-offs of parameters that could ease tolerances...
متن کاملImpact of Final-Focus Ground Motion on NLC Luminosity*
Vertical displacements of final-focus quadrupoles due to ground motion can cause the two beams of the Next Linear Collider (NLC) to miss each other at the interaction point (IP) and in addition, will increase the IP spot size, and thus degrade the luminosity, by generating dispersion and skew coupling. The sensitivity of the final-focus optics to plane ground waves is strongly wavelength depend...
متن کاملSession-Based Cooperation in Cognitive Radio Networks: A Network-Level Approach
In cognitive radio networks (CRNs), secondary users (SUs) can proactively obtain spectrum access opportunities by helping with primary users’ (PUs’) data transmissions. Currently, such kind of spectrum access is implemented via a cooperative communications based link-level frame-based cooperative (LLC) approach where individual SUs independently serve as relays for PUs in order to gain spectrum...
متن کاملNlc Luminosity as a Function of Beam Parameters †
Realistic calculation of NLC luminosity has been performed using particle tracking in DI-MAD and beam-beam simulations in GUINEA-PIG code for various values of beam emit-tance, energy and beta functions at the Interaction Point (IP). Results of the simulations are compared with analytic luminosity calculations. The optimum range of IP beta functions for high luminosity was identified. Abstract ...
